Run !!

Run !!

in life •  6 minutes ago
Sophomore year is in full swing and my life is crazy. I’m dealing with stress from all of my various commitments and all of the feelings that come with being back at school with … people who I miss and am really angry with in equal measure. So, my emotions and stress levels are both a little out of wack. For that reason, my goal is still to be very active on here but please forgive me if I’m not. Even if you haven’t seen me in a couple of days, I am still alive and kicking and writing and missing you all. My life outside of this screen can just be a little overwhelming.
As for my asks, I really love getting asks from you guys and answering them. It’s one of the best parts of my day - reading what you guys think or trying to help when things are hard. But I hate bombarding people’s dashboards with asks and I hate leaving them in my inbox b/c I haven’t written and I try to balance asks with writing on my blog. where the girl he calls his sun is here for fun, and do it now. Do it now before you become that thing that burns every day to bring him light. Before you start chipping away at parts of yourself as the fuel for the warmth that sustains him, feeds his hungry tongue and greedy hands.
What happens when the sun burns out? It won’t happen today, nor tomorrow but it is coming. That last collision of particles, that last melding of matter that erupts in liquid gold sparks. The amber shadow you cast over him, the sparkling amethyst that he bathes in. It will go out. That is the nature of suns - to burn and burn until there is nothing left to ignite.
And he will leave. Eventually, inevitably like the pull of the ocean and the sound of the wind and the return of day, he will find another star. Another bright thing to light the parts of himself he has never been able to reach. You might be his sun but people are not planets. We are not meant to revolve around one thing for so long, meant for our existence to be concentrated on one single point. And so when our sun dies down, we leave. We can’t help it but that doesn’t make it any less our fault. People are not planets and it is not our fault if they call us their suns. It is only our fault if we stay.
So, if you didn’t know, I have a personal blog: @forgottenwishesandemptykisses and if you send your asks there (specifically ones asking for advice or ones that are about your lives and not writing).
Right?! I really love how you said that. Because that’s exactly what it is. Instead of making beauty a less important factor in the equation of our self worth, we make it the goal. We say “I’ll accept myself when my skin looks like this and my waist line looks like that and I have a bigger ass and I will put myself through any number of expensive and unenjoyable tasks to get there”. We say “You’re worth something because you’re beautiful” instead of “You’re worth something. Period.”
It’s like we spend decades telling little girls that beauty only looks one way and then expect them to change their entire conceptualization of beauty immediately. We tell people to look for physical beauty first instead of kindness and compassion and humor. We idolize and covet lifestyles that we can’t afford and wouldn’t want if we weren’t bombarded with images of it. And then we hate ourselves for it.
Last week, I read “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” (which sidebar: I 11/10 recommend. I cried after I closed the last page. I don’t do that. Ever.) And I loved the quote, “And taking pride in your beauty is a damning act. Because you allow yourself to believe that the only thing notable about yourself is something with a very short shelf life.” But more than that? You allow yourself to believe that the only thing that matters about yourself is something you have no control over. Over a random alignment of genetics and features. How’s that for learned helplessness?
So listen up, anybody reading this semi entitled rant: You ARE beautiful. Because of the way you smile at strangers and make eye contact with the cashier and make your teachers laugh and hug your friends and family after a hard day. Because of the way you keep working despite how frustrated you get, the way you reach for goals and dreams and stars as if you don’t need a telescope to see them. Because you have hope for a world that doesn’t deserve it. Because you have such a big capacity for love. Because you are fascinating. Because your passions light up your eyes in a way that cannot be described. Because you are here. And alive and kicking as hard as life is. Because you are being human and experiencing this shared shakespearean tragedy we call life, the best you know how. Screw the rest.
I can get to them much quicker. If you choose to still send them to this blog, that’s fine!! I will answer them!! But not nearly as quickly as I can answer them on my personal. I have 7 asks in my inbox right now that I’m going to answer and queue tonight but being able to separate Advice Mode Lydia and Writing Mode Lydia will really help me stay active and manage my stress levels.
Y’all are one of the best parts of my life and I don’t want this blog to start being a stress. So keep sending asks! I literally love hearing from you!! But if you want to help a tired college student out, send some to my personal too. That is all, back to your regularly scheduled dashboard scrolling.
You are the architect of your own recovery. Don’t you think you deserve that? You spent years sticking for sale signs in all the parts of yourself you hadn’t learned to love yet. And now, you’re digging them up, planting flowers in the places that used to be promised to picket fences. To false idols and perfunctory fantasies and the version of yourself that only exists in your head. I mean, sure, the rest of us make up some of the scaffolding. Our love helps round out the rough edges, but the foundation? The thing that you use to rebuild and reimagine yourself again and again and again. That is all you. You drew the blueprints. We are just the people cheering and grinning like perfect idiots on the side.
Also, if you don’t see your ask on my blog anymore, I did not delete it! I would never! I just privately posted it so that my blog is more writing than asks.
Hello, my lovely followers. I have a couple of updates! Sorry I'm not the best with words but-) Hey sunny! I know I'm a complete stranger but I just wanted to say that I was having a pretty stressful day and I decided to go through your blog, and just started crying- you're so positive and open minded and it just makes me really happy. I hope your day is going well and know that you're a really good person.
ah geez, this is a really sweet ask; thank you so much for taking the time to send it! i’m glad i was of some indirect help and i hope that you’re feeling better!

SHARING IS CAREING

SHARING IS CAREING

in gratefulvibes •  5 hours ago
Relationships are now rarely found loyal. Still if we think deep and found a soul still care we can save some relationships and make them more powerful. A person hardly understand the value of the things they have but when they lost it they could #understand what he have lost. A day after tomorrow it will be my mom's 3rd death anniversary, it was not easy to accept her sudden death but time goes on and we are still alive. There no alter of our own mom or parents, nothing can't be replace by them.

Still the emptiness in my heart remain as I badly need mother's love and as I said nothing could be replace by it. We also know the value of family when we lost it. One of my sibling left my father, as he don't want to take the responsibility of my father, my father also have faults but me and my sister forgive him sake of our mom as she teaches us to be thankful and caring. My mom take care of her family and she shared her everything with us even I can say she dedicates her whole life for our family as a #selfless soul. So I'm taking care of my father and my sister giving us financial support as I don't have any job to bear our family expenses but I have aim to take care of my father of my own.

Every people made mistake in his life but we can't punish them for lifetime right? How can I forget when I was an infant and my parents contribute to grow me up! Its my bad luck that I can't take care of my beloved mom but I want to be caring daughter for my father and wish to give him better days when he getting old, may Allah help me to do so. He never left us empty belly and fulfilled our necessity when he had ability but when the bad days came and my mom passed away our family has broken. Nothing is like before.

Best Places to Visit in Italy #4 - Verona, Classy and neat

Best Places to Visit in Italy #4 - Verona, Classy and neat

in cityphotography •  2 days ago
If you have been following my posts, I have started to share with you the amazing experience we had in Italy.

Verona

During our road trip through Italy (Between Venice and Milan) we had a short stop at the little cute town of Verona to visit Juliet's balcony (from the famous Romeo and Juliet). It turned out that Verona is a very nice and clean city with high end shops and a lot of dining areas that you would definitely enjoy. Other than walking and shopping around the main piazza, you could enjoy the beautiful scenery around the town.
Here I'm sharing some of the pictures I took there

Little fortress

Little fortress

in photography •  2 days ago
I don't know for whom this fortress was built. You can say “for children, of cause”, but I never seen a child in this area. I went near twice a day…

Sometimes I come in, and thought about myself as a defender… may be it was my fortress))

Improvement in the Arabian women's rights

Improvement in the Arabian women's rights

in women •  10 hours ago
The year 2018 looks promising after the lot of good news that has brought in Arab countries in the field of women's rights. It is Tunisia, historically pioneering, which has the most illustrated, with two actions "punch". On August 13, 2017, on the occasion of Tunisian Women's Day, President Béji Caïd Essebsi decreed to reform Muslim inheritance laws to allow for equal inheritance. A month later, the presidential entourage announced the repeal of all the circulars prohibiting the marriage of Tunisian women with non-Muslims.
What bristle the beard of the guards of the Orthodox temple, including those of the prestigious institution Al-Azhar, who disavowed these reforms, calling them "contrary to sharia".
A wind of change has blown even on the most regressive countries in the world.
But it was to count without the strength of this wind of change, which blew even on the most regressive countries of the world in the field of women's rights. On September 26, a royal decree authorized Saudi women to drive. We can laugh about it, but it is a revolution in a kingdom where every woman still lives under the tutelage of a man of her family. Jordan and Lebanon have not demoralized either. Following the Tunisian model, they abolished the possibility for a rapist to escape prison if he marries his victim.
In the Arab world, the lines are indeed moving in favor of women. But only at the level of laws. Because their daily life still suffers from a major plague, called sexual harassment.
The reformist discourse can no longer pass only by the laws and the few lessons given by a faulty public education.
The images of aggression that came to us this year from Morocco, including those of an attempt to gang rape a girl on a bus, reminded us of the violent reality of the street. In Egypt, considered the most dangerous country for women, a conservative lawyer, interviewed by a local television channel, has come to say that the girl who walks in the street with ripped jeans "deserves to be raped". "It's even a national duty to harass and rape her," he had shrieked under the horrified gaze of the other guests. He has since been sentenced to three years in prison.
These violent, not to say criminal, declarations remind us that the woman's body, despite the good intentions of the politicians, still does not belong to it. In many Arab countries, the alpha male factory is running at full speed. Every day, social networks emit smells as nauseating as the call to violence of this Egyptian lawyer.
Every Friday, imams must teach people the basic rules of good manners: that it is forbidden to harass a woman on the street.
As a result, the reformist discourse can no longer pass only through the laws and the few lessons provided by defective public education. The time has come to use the instrument that speaks the most about the street: religion. For many decades, mosques have served to engage jihadists and sell an obscure speech to Arab youth.
It is high time for them to become the mouthpiece of the new society we want to build. Every Friday, instead of decreeing their Manichean vision of halal and haram(allowed/not allowed), imams must relearn to people the basic rules of etiquette: that it is forbidden to harass a woman in the street, that she is entitled to the public space as much as the man, that the rape is a crime in the eyes of Allah(god).

Mont Saint-Michel ||| YOU MUST SEE THIS|||

Mont Saint-Michel ||| YOU MUST SEE THIS|||

in travel •  6 hours ago
Le Mont Saint-Michel is an island commune in France. It is located about one kilometre (0.6 miles) off the country's northwestern coast, at the mouth of the Couesnon River near Avranches and is 100 hectares (247 acres) in size.

The island has held strategic fortifications since ancient times and since the 8th century AD has been the seat of the monastery from which it draws its name. The structural composition of the town exemplifies the feudal society that constructed it: on top, God, the abbey and monastery; below, the great halls; then stores and housing; and at the bottom, outside the walls, houses for fishermen and farmers.

The commune's position — on an island just 600 metres from land — made it accessible at low tide to the many pilgrims to its abbey, but defensible as an incoming tide stranded, drove off, or drowned would-be assailants. The Mont remained unconquered during the Hundred Years' War; a small garrison fended off a full attack by the English in 1433. The reverse benefits of its natural defence were not lost on Louis XI, who turned the Mont into a prison. Thereafter the abbey began to be used more regularly as a jail during the Ancien Régime.
And that is how it looks in low tide.

One of France's most recognizable landmarks, visited by more than 3 million people each year, Mont Saint-Michel and its bay are on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Over 60 buildings within the commune are protected in France as monuments historiques.
