The International Baseball Players Federation--Powered by Steem

The International Baseball Players Federation--Powered by Steem

--As a lifelong baseball fan I have always been dumbfounded as to why players did not form a union that could create their own ownership in their own league, owned by them based on the merit of their box office appeal. The Green Bay Packers are an NFL team without an official owner, as they are owned (mostly) by the community of Green Bay or people who are giant fans of the club or NFL in general.

--Why not form a Federation of baseball players that hold their own destiny in their hands, pursue their own interests within the game as they choose, and can benefit by an ownership stake in the club they endorse with their daily toils?(Branch Rickey-above-was going to found "the Continental Baseball League" but later was talked out of it)
You could crowd source the funding to begin the club, with perks including ownership stake based on X value of a financial contribution. I will use the example of the cryptocurrency steem as an example, to have a team based in Caracas, Venezuela...

...the Caracas Osos play their games in @cryptkeeper Stadium (naming rights to highest individual each season delegating the most steem power to the club for the entire year). Each member is paid X steem dollars per game, with options that include X higher pay (in steem dollars) based on contract incentives, or team ownership (shares of the club purchased solely with steem dollars in a public exchange). The fan's ticket admission, concessions are all paid in steem dollars via their personal accounts, or gate admission tickets (among many other perks) can be earned by delegating a given fan's steem power to the club, among other opportunities provided by steem and the steemit platform. All licensed merchandise, media rights, and any other revenue producing opportunities.

--Should a player draw the interest of another professional baseball league, say for example Major League Baseball the IBPF (powered by steem) would place that player within that league's posting guidelines. That post payment would be made in the form of steem dollars (Posting is a system when a player's contract is placed open for bid by another league with a chance for the other league to employ that person via payment-highest payment typically winning that player's service for the agreed contract the player later consents or deal is void).

--Power (ups) to the people, as their would be a chance for teams to locally own their own clubs, the players getting much more of a say in their destiny by negotiation. Early pioneers would actually have the chance to develop generational wealth as their gains, dividends paid out the ownership over the years could accumulate and be re-invested at a staggering amount as the league took off.

--Sound impossible? Concepts discussed (with the exception of use of crypto financing) has happened several times throughout history. The modern ownership of the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers are families of the late George Halas and Rooney family, respectively. Both franchises were founded by these former players that founded their city's flagship NFL team that are still clearly there. Michael Jordan, John Elway, Derek Jeter, Magic Johnson, Nolan Ryan and countless other players have taken on roles of ownership groups, or at minimum top positions of upper management within sports clubs.

{{{This thought has intrigued me for a long time, I curious on your thoughts on this topic}}}
